Generative Impact: Concrete Applications in Fashion and Retail
Microsoft's Milan headquarters became the epicenter of innovation on December 14th as two major players in the field—JAKALA and Microsoft—joined forces in an event titled "Generative Impact: Concrete Applications in Fashion and Retail" Moderated by Frank Pagano and opened by Sara Anselmi, Microsoft's global partner, the event underscored the crucial role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in addressing challenges and unlocking opportunities in the industry.
Microsoft has strategically chosen JAKALA as its key partner in the realm of AI, acknowledging its commitment to leveraging data and emerging intelligent technologies to assist clients in achieving strategic goals. As Marco Di Dio Roccazzella, JAKALA’s Managing Director, emphatically puts it, "We are more than consultants; we are solution catalysts that accompany businesses in their transformation processes, generating value through technology and data."
This alliance further solidified with JAKALA's entry into Microsoft's exclusive AI L.A.B program in October 2023. This program is designed to advance the corporate ecosystem through an AI-centric approach.
After providing an overview of the current scenarios, Mattia De Rosa delved into the heart of the matter, presenting Microsoft 365 Copilot—a groundbreaking application seamlessly integrated into Microsoft's update. It utilizes user data and the ChatGPT model to respond to diverse questions. De Rosa's presentation highlighted how AI is becoming an essential part of daily life, rendering human-machine interaction more intuitive and efficient.
Vittorio Di Tomaso, Maize partner, and Stefano Brigaglia, JAKALA partner, then offered a perspective on the epochal shift in AI evolution: "On November 30, 2022, with the launch of ChatGPT, a new era began: the algorithm learned to speak, and machines became producers of creative content," explained Di Tomaso.
The presentation further delved into extracting value from innovation, with a focus on various business areas. JAKALA's partners—Andrea Bernini, Raffaele Cerchiaro, Gianluigi Crippa, and Alessandro Olivari—underscored the significance of AI in marketing, communication, and product development. Bernini, a fashion and design expert, highlighted how AI can assist companies in creating diverse content from an initial photoshoot. AI can also contribute to product design by quickly producing renderings, variants, and size developments. Other applications include making SEO more effective and efficient, with a human touch remaining in control, leading to resource savings of approximately 30%.
Bringing a different perspective from more traditional business models to the stage was Carlo Luzzi, an electronic engineer for MotoGP at Honda. Luzzi explained to the audience how crucial data is in sports, often leaving little time for analysis. From this standpoint, AI is truly making a difference by "minimizing human error”.
The challenge now lies in accepting Artificial Intelligence and acquiring the necessary skills to harness its full potential. In this journey, the partnership between JAKALA and Microsoft represents a significant step toward AI-driven digital transformation. These two entities contribute to shaping a future marked by a revolution in business processes, infrastructure, and teams. The path is set for an adventure in innovation and transformation, where collaboration is the key to unlocking the full potential of Artificial Intelligence.
