Solutions: DXP – Digital Experience Platforms
The Power of Partnerships in Digital Experience Platforms: A Strategic Advantage
This insight is shared by Lotus Child, Client Experience Director in the UK, Nordics and France.

The CTO’s Dilemma

You’re a CTO responsible for the digital transformation of a global enterprise. Your team is tasked with delivering a seamless, scalable, and secure Digital Experience Platform (DXP) to engage millions of customers worldwide.

However, the complexity of the project is daunting. With numerous platforms available, each promising to be the ‘silver bullet,’ you face a critical decision: Which DXP can truly meet your organisation's needs? And more importantly, how can you ensure that the chosen platform will integrate seamlessly, scale as needed, and remain secure in an ever-evolving digital landscape? No pressure, right?

What if the answer doesn’t lie in selecting a single vendor, but rather, in leveraging the power of partnerships?

The rise of partner-centricity in the DXP space is emerging as a game-changing strategy, offering CTOs a way to not only choose the right platform but also ensure it is implemented and validated by trusted third parties. Similar to a best-of-breed strategy, this approach can provide customisation, scalability, and flexibility, but typically with a less complex integration and lower costs. This shift towards collaboration is transforming the way organisations approach their digital experience initiatives, providing a pathway to success that is both scalable and secure.

The Power of Partnerships: Redefining DXP Implementation

Why Partner-Centricity Matters in the DXP Ecosystem
In the past, selecting a DXP often meant committing to a single vendor's ecosystem, limiting flexibility and potentially stifling innovation.

As the digital landscape becomes increasingly complex, DXP vendors are recognising the importance of collaborating with a vetted network of partners to deliver comprehensive solutions that meet the diverse needs of their clients. Cultivating robust partner networks provides a number of benefits, including:

  • Expanded Reach and Expertise: Partnerships allow DXP vendors to tap into diverse markets and industries, bringing specialised knowledge and experience to the table.
  • Agnostic, Third-Party Validation: Partners provide an unbiased perspective on platforms, offering CTOs valuable insights beyond vendor marketing materials.
  • Custom Solutions at Scale: Implementation partners excel at developing bespoke solutions that leverage the DXP's core capabilities while addressing unique business needs.
  • Accelerated Innovation: Collaborative ecosystems foster innovation, allowing for the rapid development of new features and integrations.

Leveraging Partnerships for Scalable and Secure DXPs

The CTO's Perspective: Strategic Value of Partner-Centric Approaches
As a CTO, your primary concerns likely revolve around the scalability, security, and long-term viability of your digital infrastructure. Partner-centric DXP strategies address these concerns head-on:

  1. Scalability Beyond Technology: Partners bring expertise in architecting solutions that grow with your business. They offer insights into industry best practices for scaling digital experiences.
  2. Enhanced Security Through Diverse Expertise: Access a network of security experts specialising in various aspects of digital experiences who can provide regular security audits and updates, and who understand your specific implementation.
  3. Future-Proofing Your DXP Investment: Partners often have early access to new features and can help plan for seamless upgrades. Multi-partner ecosystems ensure you're not locked into a single technological approach.

The greatest change in corporate culture—and the way business is being conducted—may be the accelerated growth of relationships based on partnership.

The Role of Agnostic, Third-Party Validation

One of the most significant advantages of partner-centric DXP strategies is access to unbiased, third-party validation. Here's why this matters:

  • Objective Assessment: Partners can provide an honest evaluation of a DXP's strengths and limitations in relation to your specific needs.
  • Real-World Insights: Learn from the experiences of similar organisations through partner case studies and testimonials.
  • Customisation Potential: Understand how different DXPs can be tailored to your unique requirements, based on partner expertise.

JAKALA and Acquia: A Case Study in Effective Partnerships

As a long-standing Acquia partner, our strategic alliance has allowed us to deliver scalable and secure DXPs to leading enterprises across a range of sectors.

Saint-Gobain, a global enterprise in the construction business, operates a large number of brands. They were looking to centralise into a single multi-brand and multi-market environment to improve compliance, governance, and cost-efficiency. Over 100 sites were migrated into one centralised platform in a limited time frame to deliver seamless integration with DAM, PIM, and the client’s existing tools and calculators.

AMD’s products provide fine-tuned performance that not only meets the needs of their customers but surpasses them. AMD wanted to ensure its web properties delivered the same experience. To achieve this, we embarked on a re-platform, requiring 300 landing pages and 40 product pages to be launched in under four months. Together, JAKALA and Acquia delivered a solution that drove a 12% increase in customer satisfaction and saw shop conversions shoot up a whopping 200%.

By leveraging JAKALA’s deep expertise in digital strategy and implementation and Acquia's robust DXP offering, we were able to drive success in ways that wouldn’t have been possible if we were working independently.

Identifying the Right Partners for Your DXP Journey

  • Assess Industry Expertise: Look for partners with a proven track record in your sector.
  • Evaluate Technical Proficiency: Ensure partners have deep knowledge of your chosen DXP and related technologies.
  • Consider Cultural Fit: The best partnerships align not just technically, but also in terms of work culture and values.
  • Examine Support Capabilities: Post-implementation support is crucial; verify the partner's ongoing service offerings.

Maximising the Value of DXP Partnerships

To truly harness the power of partner-centricity in your DXP strategy:

  • Engage Early: Involve potential partners in the DXP selection process for valuable insights.
  • Foster Collaboration: Create an environment where your team, the DXP vendor, and implementation partners can innovate together.
  • Continuous Learning: Leverage partner training and certification programs to upskill your team.
  • Regular Assessments: Schedule periodic reviews with partners to ensure your DXP continues to meet evolving business needs.

When we collaborate, we create something greater than the sum of its parts.

The Future of DXPs: Embracing the Ecosystem

As we look to the future, the trend towards partner-centricity in DXPs is set to accelerate. CTOs who embrace this shift position their organisations to:

  • Adapt more quickly to changing market conditions.
  • Leverage best-of-breed solutions across the digital experience stack.
  • Drive innovation through collaborative development and shared insights.

The power of partnerships in the DXP space isn't just about technology integration; it's about creating a synergistic ecosystem where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Building strategic, flexible, and diverse collaborations empowers companies to navigate complexity, drive innovation, and achieve sustainable growth.

Your Strategic Move in the Digital Experience Game

The rise of partner-centricity in DXPs represents a pivotal shift in how enterprises approach digital transformation. For CTOs, this trend offers an opportunity to build scalable, secure, and innovative digital experiences that drive business growth.

By leveraging the power of partnerships, you're not just implementing a platform; you're joining a dynamic ecosystem of innovation and expertise.

The question now is: How will you harness the power of partner-centricity to transform your organisation's digital experience strategy?
