Women in Drupal 2023

Women in Drupal Award 2023

We are excited and proud to announce that for the second consecutive year, we have had the honor of presenting and sponsoring the Women in Drupal Awards. This year's event took place at the grand DrupalCon 2023 in Lille, France.

Background of the Women in Drupal Award

In the tech realm, and especially within the Drupal community, the achievements of women often go overlooked. Acknowledging this, we initiated the Women in Drupal Awards in order to offer recognition and celebrate the contributions of women in the developer community.

The award is split into three categories:

  • Define - This category honors those who venture into conceptualizing innovative Drupal projects. Strategists, designers, founders, and changemakers, all find a home here.
  • Build - Those involved in the creation and structure of Drupal projects will be recognized in this category. It covers developers, HR specialists recruiting for Drupal roles, and community members contributing to the Drupal environment.
  • Scale - This category acknowledges individuals who have contributed to the growth of platforms or businesses. It's intended for developers, sales professionals, and consultants.

Selecting the Winners

After a public nomination phase, the winners were selected by an esteemed jury consisting of:

  • Cristina Chumillas - Winner of the Define category of the Awards 2022, Senior Front-end Developer at Lullabot
  • Surabhi Gokte - Winner of the Build category 2022, Community Manager at Srijan Technologies
  • Stella Power - Winner of the Scale 2022 category and CEO & Founder of Annertech
  • Baddy Sonja Breidert - CEO and Co-Founder of 1xINTERNET & Board Chair at Drupal Association, Frankfurt
  • Kitt Ralkov - Head of HR & Experience, FFW Europe

On October 17th, at this year's DrupalCon, the community gathered on stage to acknowledge the award recipients.
